Inner Radiance: Designing a Holistic Self-care Routine

When designing a holistic self-care routine, we are able to nurture our mental and emotional well-being. To do this, we ensure that our basic needs are met to increase our productivity and efficiency in various aspects of life. By prioritizing self-care, we improve  quality of life. Let us learn to develop our inner radiance by doing effective habits. Here are some of my non-negotiables.  

Start Journaling 

I have been an advocate of journaling and it helped me in many ways such as increased self-awareness and being able to process my emotions. When journaling, I am able to articulate how I feel and the habits I do as I go through life. I love creative journaling wherein I take notes about things I have learned, for example, movies I watched or books I have read. I also like reflective journaling wherein I answer some journal prompts and help me understand myself more.

Balance your immune system

I want to make sure that what I put into my body is safe, intentional and helpful for my body’s needs. Move your body! 

I have never been diagnosed as depressed but I have gone through so much grief and anxiety for the past years. To overcome or ease the emotional pain, I realized how much working out has been helpful for me. It improves my mood, increases my energy and it also makes me happy and satisfied after a good workout.  Moving your body is not just having the goal to lose weight but also the mental and emotional benefit of it. I also want to keep myself strong and healthy as we’re not getting any younger and as a now-married woman, there is still so much in store for me.

You can try it and just add your own routine that aligns with your needs. Self-care practices are explorative, it is ever-changing but make sure to identify your non-negotiables like what I did. 🙂
